Painting miniatures has given me a wonderful space to showcase my traditional art skills. I use a combination of acrylic paint, chalk pastels, and water color pencils to create one-of-a-kind models. To customize their bases - I use a plethora of materials, ranging from tile grout to jewelry quality quartz crystals. Working with this 3D "canvas" has strengthened my skills in proportions, light sources, and creative problem solving skills!
